Hmmm... Going over the specs for the AIv2 as posted on the website, the fitted hull weight is 47.63 kg but the fully rigged weight is 64.41kg.

That means that the aka, ama, sail etc only add 16.78 kg.

Given that the smaller ama on my AIv1 weigh 14kg (Mingle got 14.1 kg for his) and the AI v2 ama are longer I'm wondering how accurate these figures are?

Are the much larger v2 ama actually lighter than the v1's?

My v1 aka, ama sail etc add 28.78kg to the fitted hull weight.
The extra 7.63 kg of the v2 hull (v1 hull weighs around 40kgs) sounds conservatively plausible but the larger ama, mast/sail, aka etc are actually 12kg lighter overall than the v1?

Something's not adding up here? :?

I can't imagine that any of the 2015 A.I. components are lighter than the earlier models.

We need the owner of a 2015 A.I. to hop on their scales with the relevant bits and pieces...Anyone? :-)

Cheers,

Mike.

I need someone to help me, but with the WT Everglades Challenge starting in 2 days, that's not going to happen soon.

You could always take the hull and weigh it at a truck stop scale. The ammas too, if they are too much to handle on the bathroom scale.
