No problem. When you get it if you have a question just shoot me a pm. This is where i got the rubber for the trim adjust. I also cut a piece so the motor is limited on how far it will tilt up keeping it just short of the wing plate hitting the grab handle. The wing plate is upside down so when tilted up it rides right above the grab handle and keeps the motor from turning sideways so that when you let it down it doesn't snap the wing plate off or get stuck in the up position.
Start long and just shave it down until you get the result you want.
Take that extra 500 and you can buy an extra battery and zip around all day long instead of creeping along. :wink:

Say Memory Maker, or others, what is your view of the solar panel vs. an extra battery?

Extra battery. Unless you want to poke along at 1mph with solar power. The solar panel will not charge at a fast enough rate to even come close to having two batts. Go with the 1003 battery. Same price more capacity. Just cut the excess plastic off the battery that mounts it to the outboard.

403= 29.6 volt , 11ah, output power 180 watts

1003= 29.6 volts, 18ah, output power 480 watts

Both are priced at $599

It looks great ........ Love the way you did the reverse. I used the clips before too for the steering. Now I use turn buckles because it makes the adjusting the cables, tensioning them and taking them on and off much easier. A friend of mine came up with that one and I have to admit it is a lot easier

Yeah ....... IT WORKS GREAT ........ They are both 29.5 v but the 1003 battery is larger footprint.

Thanks MM! The way i have the lines set up i shouldn't have to do much adjusting once the stretch is maxed out but i did consider doing exactly what you just said and might still do it if my theory turns up incorrect once i finish and start using it all the time this fall.

Hey Steve ........ Got to hear from ya bro .......... If it's a choice, I would go with battery. It's cheaper and you don't have to find a way to mount it. There are 2 solar chargers for the Torqeedo. Hobie sells 1 that is 23 watts that is half the size of the one by Torqeedo. The Torqeedo is 48watts I think but it is nearly 5 ft long. I have the Torqeedo 1 but I have not used it yet but my plan is to use it on my reservoir rig with my 503 Torqeedo so I can charge while running and gunning ( as much as an electric can) and to charge spare batteries on shore while I'm fishing when camping. I don't need it for the PA because I have 3 batteries and can't see ever running out of power.

Finally found the time to get this project underway when someone with long arms came to visit. It is mounted and got out this week for its first test run. I'm very pleased the performance. I'm certain if someone saw me on the pond for the first time with this they would have thought I was drunk. I was all over the place, I should have taken a pic of the GPS mapping on my fishfinder. It looked like a plate of spaghetti. Too much fun.

Thanks again to all those who jumped in to help and guided me along the way.

Tied the rudder lines into the steering drum. Next time out I want to try it in the fixed position to compare.

Tight lines.

Can someone show me a photo of how you mounted a ram mount to the bottom of the throttle control? For now I have it mounted to one of my H-rail plates.

I velcro mine to the floor next to my seat. Keeps it out of the way and very easy to remove.

This is how I mounted mine. The advantage of the H-rail mounts is that they can be on the outside of the boat out of the way.

I also decided to mount a Harken cleat on the opposite side for the store and reverse lines for the Torqeedo. Life is a work in progress as is my Hobie.

I use the Torqeedo (the one that look like an outboard engine). It is attached top my Kayak with a 4 inch angle aluminum angle bar which is attached to the kayak side bars with RAM equipment.

I didn’t one the Torqeedo that you are suggesting because I want to know how much power I have left

The throttle display shows my battery usage. I did get a spare battery for those "Getting Old" days.
