um...., I don't have a dog in this fight ... been kind of keeping up with it ....but from what I'm getting you say one side is about a half inch or so off? I see you used a piece of what looks like laminate flooring (?) across the top of the yak as a horizontal reference point... and I know it looks straight, but it might not be exact. Better would be a long level... that way you can tell if the top of the deck is in fact level. Next use a piece of string and a plumb bob to measure your vertical distances from the top of the level to the point you're measuring (make sure measurement on each side or exactly the same from the outer edge of the gunnels..). That will truly give you an accurate measurement... mark the spot on the string with marker where string touches bottom of level for both sides... then measure the difference between the two points on the string.
That would be more accurate (and more impressive) if you're trying to show the difference to a dealer. Haven't tried this on mine, but I bet most of us would find neither measurement is exact on either side (symmetrical hull). I hang my new 2015 OB from the ceiling in my shop and I can look under it and see all kinds of slight depressions and bulges..., same with the other OB and the two Revo's I owned...
How much of a lean is it when in-water? 3-4 inches or worse?
Just a thought if you're going to take this to the next level with Hobie.
