I've started looking for a Wave so I can do away with a trailer and carry it on the back of my truck. (Modified flatbed) What year did Hobie change the Wave to a 3 piece tramp? I understand the newer 3 piece is more desirable as it keeps the boat hulls tighter together.

We have made both styles for decades and still offer both.

The "Classic" was soon joined by the "Club" 3 Piece.... I think the first year of production. Early classics had hooks for the tramp wire, bolted to the hulls. In about 2000, we made the hulls universal by designing a hook that slid into the tracks, so you can change trampoline styles easily. All Waves since then have had the tracks.
