Been meaning to post these for awhile and finally found a little time. This is a 2014 PA14 that I've had for almost a year. Like everyone it's always a work in progress.

This is my first attempt to insert photos so let's hope for the best!

Image

I've built the same storage rack as many others. Thanks to this forum it was easy to "steal" the best ideas. I attached a plastic hanger on one end which is where I keep my PDF. The floor is closet shelving I had left over. It's a little lighter than the wood bottoms I see and the vinyl cover prevents rust.
Got the H-Bar for Christmas and it makes an already stable boat more confident to stand and cast than ever.

Image

This pic shows several things...I added the Tackle Web gear holders to both sides of the seat. I also have a taco clip for my paddle on the side but it was easy to knock loose. So I added a simple ball-end bungie, and it keeps in place perfectly. Just tight enough to be secure but not a pain to undo or redo. Also added a RAM 2007 rod holder on a clamp style ball attachment.

Image

My FAVORITE add-on! My very own pee-tube! You know how it is...when you gotta go, you gotta go! This is a simple funnel attached to some flex pipe with a small 3/4" piece of PVC inserted into the scupper. Flexible enough to reach where it needs to and also tuck out of the way! Can't claim originality on this. A buddy made himself one so I copied his. Works great!

I also added a small cargo net below the seat to keep my tackle box and anything else secure. You can also see that I Velcro my dog-leash anchor system to my seat where it's out of the way and easily to get to.

I took out the Hobie Tackle Management system and replaced it with the bucket insert. Much more functional in my opinion. I Velcroed the tray to the left side rail and it will still hold two 3600 size Plano boxes as needed. Between the bucket insert, the tackle webs and the relocated tackle tray, I don't even take a crate out any more!
You can also see my Lowrance-4 Elite HDI and my Cobra floating radio. Never leave home without it! The green leashes are home-made. Another great "stolen" idea from the forum!

Image

Finally, in this photo you can see my rescue rope ladder. I decided to attach it to the rear because that's where I'd have the most luck getting back into the yak if I flipped. Of course that' assuming I could get it back upright! Went swimming out of the yak a couple of weeks ago and gave it a try. Makes it real easy to get back in from the stern.

Also shown is my YakAttack Visi Carbon Pro light/flag. And lastly you can see my parking pole with shock cord leash. Made the pole from an 8' Home Depot plant stake and a PVC t-connector. Cost all of about $10.

If you've gotten to here, thanks for reading. Hope it wasn't too long and boring!

Pee tube, hmmm, I need one. Nice setup. I built an identical cart years ago for my first kayak.

LOL...a pee tube, I wish I had one last night for the tournament.

I've seen those in airplanes but it's a great idea.

Everything you've done is awesome but I'm impressed with the pee tube. Like someone else mentioned above, I always used to mirage drive hole but it was always obvious what I was doing if I got seen squatting over that end of the kayak (considering I'm a girl) so this is genius! I'll just modify it slightly to add one of those Go Girl things

All that wonderful work on your Hobie and all we seem to be interested in is the pee tube. Great job on your yak. Well thought out. I like how you attached the rod leashes to the seat. Have fun.

Have to ask where you got the cargo net? What size? Another great idea. Might work well on my H-Box.

I didn't notice the cargo net the first time. That is another great idea.

I got the cargo net from premierkayak.com over a year ago. Looks like they still carry them:

http://premierkayak.com/cargonet.html

It's a good deal at $9.99 IMO. $2.95 for shipping.

I suppose you could also attach it to the bottom of the seat.

I have Tackle Webs on the side of my seat. Great product, they make one for underneath the seat but I am not sure what the size is. I've been trying to keep all my stuff in the H Crate. I think the net may make a good cover to keep things in place.

Thanks for the info on the cargo net. Enjoy your PA. Love mine.

Suggest moving the R/H rod holder aft about 1" so you could add the R/H rudder tiller handle.....it really helps to have the second rudder tiller handle available on both sides of the kayak....if you pull your rod or transfer your rod to your left hand, the right side tiller handle is available for steerage....just a suggestion from someone who uses both sides for steerage in my PA-14.
Very nice set up!

I've considered getting the second steering lever just haven't done it yet. I can actually steer okay with the black knob when I have to but the lever would be better.
Thanks!
