I am looking for a Hobie 16

Grew up at the age of 5 riding the pontoons on a 14 , me on one and my cousin on the other while my dad sailed us all around the off the coast of SC. Later he got a 16 by that time I had already learned how to sail the 14 sunfishes , and windsurf. I just love the 16 though over all the other models the shape just seems so much more aesthetic. I am looking for any 16 with orange or white hulls with any go of the following sail patterns. If you guys here of anything please let me know.

Check Craigslist in all cities within a couple hundred miles, that have lakes or are coastal.

It took well over a year to find my H16, so don't expect it to go fast (though I hope it does).

Sxrracer why 86 or newer ? just curious , and Ted yeah I have been doing exactly that have found quite a few but not worth buying and definitely not the price they were asking for because I then I will see one that is even in better condition for cheaper and close to the year by one or less.

86 or newer: I believe Hobie made some changes in the 80s that resulted in lower weight hulls, and I would hope, stronger. The newer boats also have improvements such as adjustable rudders, aussie halyard, different jib blocks and main blocks. You can research on this site to find when Hobie made changes to the design. The boat I purchased had mixed hardware due to being in a rental fleet.

The best deal you will find will be the one that gets you on the water. If you have a choice, choose the boat that requires less rework.
