Water in hull when kayaking.

I am getting water in the hull when kayaking. the weather has been fine so it is not from hatches. I do not see a crack in the hull. can it be from the Cam Locks for the mirage drive as they are slightly underwater while kayaking and how do I fix this. My hobie advanture island is so old it does not have a serial #. but I love it. My dog goes with me but the rudder steering cables are not under water enough for the amount of water in the hull after a 3 - 5 mile trip.

All Adventure Islands have serial numbers. Maybe yours is just worn down?

Many places to check for cracks and leaks. Common areas in older AI's are the front area the Mirage drive sits on and a few inches forward of that at the mast cup brass mount (underside). Also check from the inside the Mirage Drive cam lock columns for cracks.

Other than that, using air from a vacuum's exhaust and soapy water to find other spots. Remember, lots of excess air will be coming out around the front hatch (normal) as well as other smaller holes (steering and up/down controls).

Do a search here for leak test to get more info and comments.

Yes, cam locks and drive wells could be cracked, so doing a pressure test can help determine that.
