I will try the soap/air hose combo. I guess I could send the air through the drain plug. Might be easier to use the inflater for an air mattress.

The trip report will not be for a couple of weeks due to my work schedule. Already started working on the version that I will post on my blog and facebook. I figure I can trim out the fluff and post a more technical report after that. I tend to be quite wordy on these though.

I also shot a bunch of video as well. That will take even longer to edit down. Some appears to be unusable due to water on the camera.

I have posted the 1st two days of our Suwannee River trip that we did several weeks ago. I have not added video at this point but will do it at some other time. I am hoping to have the next couple of days of the trip done next week. Why is it taking so long you ask, because I like to write. This will not be a 10 minute read though. Last count, it was over 12,000 words and counting. I am hoping to add some video clips to the days as I publish. Also, in this format, the first day is at the bottom so you will need to scroll up to read it. Once done, I will reformat them to be easier to read. I will also have a technical post giving some specifics like water depth, trip speed, restrooms, resupply points, etc for kayakers in general. Consider this still in draft form but I am wanting to get this out there.

I feel like I have written a term paper.

Once I have finished the write-up, I will post a link in the trips section of this forum.

Ken, enjoyed reading through the first part of your blog. I have to ask (maybe you've already mentioned it and I missed it), what purpose is the PVC frame in each of your Hobies? I see umbrellas mounted, but that can't be your only use for them?

PVC frame did several things.
Place to mount the umbrellas
Possible place to mount a Gopro (didn't use this option on the trip though)
We hung our hydration packs with snacks in them.
Also gave a place to hang small bags, or a garbage bag as well. Worked out pretty good.

Hoping to add some more days to it soon. Got busy.

Great write up so far! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your journey. Thanks for taking the time to post.

Eric

Sorry for the long time between updates. We ended up moving back to Florida at the beginning of the year. New job and all has been keeping me busy. Did get out on the part of the Wekiva river last month. My brother lives here as well (the same one that took this trip with me) so we are planning on a lot of adventures..

I am hoping to get to this in the next month. I am crazy busy until Easter...and maybe beyond. Heck, I haven't even had time nor the location to setup my own computer.

Oh well.

Slowly pulling things together. My brother has been working on editing the videos into small bits.

Our Youtube channel is https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjmsGc ... 83vpE1VNhQ
Day 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeSvcEG0_Ak
Day 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-rd8fBSt74

Also, we are going to be doing some of this again over Memorial Day weekend. We are starting north of Big Shoals, portage around the Shoals, then pull out at Suwannee River Music park. We are only going to do 10 miles a day and sand bar camp most of the way.

We have also been exploring the Oklawaha River which is in Ocala, FL. That has become a favorite of mine. There is a video in that same channel but we will be adding more detail. That video was one of the first ones we shot together and we are still learning the ropes.

Any tips, comments, etc would be helpful. Also you can subscribe when we post more. We will be posting more of the Suwannee Trip in the next week (that is because my brother is doing it, not me. Still busy after the move back to FL).
