If you look closely at my trailer photo, you can see the Trailex 2" x 6" carpeted "bunk supports' that are outside the 3" PVC pipes where they are attached......the hull actually rests on the 2 x 6's too.
I have not seen any distortion to my hull with this mounting configuration after 3 years of use.
