I like the idea of the red interior light under the mounting plates for night fishing in the bug laden Midwest. Who's did you use and what length?

Sorry not sure of the brand, I picked them up at Canadian Tire (auto parts store in Canada) they are waterproof 12v LEDs for cars. You could DIY them cheaper but these were all wired up and ready to go.

I used these 4" leds I got off Amazon. I had originally used 8" lights under the mounting boards on my PA14 2014, but when I upgraded to the new h-rail, I also replaced the boards with the shorter ones on the newer PAs.

Thanks, those look perfect...I just ordered two. Gotta love Amazon. I love the look of the switch panel, but hate loosing the rod holders. Thinking I am going to install two switches, one for overall power, and one for interior lights, plus a 12v cigarette lighter power plug, behind the seat towards the right hand side. Think that will be easy access and out of the way. I already have a cigarette lighter plug wired to my 12v battery charger, so that will be any easy way to charge the battery without taking it out of the boat. Plus I can plug a USB charger in it to gas up my phone and camera, or power my external fishing lights that I just throw over the side.

Only been on the Hobie forum for a short time, but there are many helpful people with great ideas! Thanks everyone.

I went with the switch panel in place of one of the rod holders because I was too chicken to start cutting holes in the PA. The first year I actually had a switch panel mounted to the outside of a pelican case that my battery also fit in. I kept in the center hatch in the tackle tray. Meant I couldn't put anything else in there, but it worked. Last year, my 2nd year, I decided I wanted the storage back so I opted to give up a rod holder for the switch panel in its place. Now in my 3rd year, who knows maybe now I'll opt for cutting in the yak and relocating the switch panel. Probably true as with anything else. The longer you have it, the less protective you become.

I know where you are coming from! I just need to get few stump burns in her before I will feel comfortable cutting big holes! I actually bought Kayak insurance for this think. I didn't know there was such a thing...there is...so I figured since I am pulling her around on a $189 Harbor Freight trailer that was made in China that I bolted together in a few hours, the $100 a year give me the piece of mind that if a bolt fails and the kayak goes airborn at 75mph, I get a new boat!

I just came back from my maiden trip with my PA, two weeks fly fishing for huge rainbows on chironomids in British Columbia. I fished 8 hour days for 14 days straight. The boat was amazing, the Bassyaks motor kit worked perfectly I never used the mirage drive at all. Fishing hands free and steering with your feet is pretty slick. I used the cart to recharge at camp overnight. The two anchor system with the Anchor Wizard on the back and a dive reel on the front worked great. My trailer for the PA and a scooter wasn't finished yet so they gave me a loaner for just the kayak. The trip took us along the Icefields Parkway between Banff and Jasper one of the most beautiful drives in the world and on a perfectly clear day.

Nice catch, and no kidding, very nice looking setup. That RV is great, bigger than my loft here in St. Louis! Me, I have a Hyundai Santa Fe and a Marmut tent! Also, I take back making fun of your kayak cover. Especially after finding out my $215 Hobie one is not water proof! Need to find time and get it seam sealed and 3M'd this weekend before I head to Kentucky Lake next Wednesday.

Fishing my first tournament on Saturday. Boat not kayak, but I wanted to see what tournaments are like. Thinking of heading back down to Kentucky Lake for the big Hobie Bass Open the first week of June, just to spectate.

My trailer is finally finished, got it loaded up today and everything fit great. The boat on one side with PVC bunks and my scooter for running around the campsites on the other side with storage above the boat.

For some more charging options for my Bassyaks motor batteries when remote camping I added a 100w solar panel and a mount for my Yamaha generator. Either one can charge at about 10 amps which is only 5 amps to each battery in parallel so it still takes awhile to charge.
