Hi
Has anyone had the profile plans which are mentioned in the class rules? I'm thinking of having a go at making my own and want to make sure they are class legel if I do. The class rules refers to the profile plans which it says are available through IHCA, I had a look through the website and there is a long list of possible contacts and I'm not sure who would be best to try and contact for the plans. Has anybody else tried to get the rudder plans before who could point me in the right direction or has a copy they could e-mail me?

thanks Andy

I tried before and got no response. Let me know if you find them!

You need to contact International Hobie Class Executive Director David Brookes <[email protected]>. He should be able to help you.

sorry I'm a bit late replying, I did e-mail David Brookes before christmas and he got back to me very quickly. He said he doesn't have an electronic copy of the plans and so the charge would be $50 to get a set printed and posted. This was too much for me so I'm going to make do with measuring off an old pair of rudders

Andy,

I could be wrong, but i thought the templates are normally used to ensure that repairs to OEM rudder blades are within specifications. The IHCA rules state that rudders blades are to be of Hobie Cat manufacture and that if you build your own blades to the templates they are not legal for division racing.

Anybody can make class legal rudders for the 16 and 14 as long as they meet the weight and measurement requirements.

All the other classes must use HCC rudders to be class legal.
