Does anyone has any bad experience with this cart? After installing this, I can attach a ram rod holder and Pro Techt clamp/mount. Looks like this will make my carting a lot simplier. I just hope it can handle the the weight of my PA 14 with Heavy cooler.

I personally don't see the advantage over the HD cart. I guess it depends often you cart your PA. If I have a ramp, I dip my trailer and launch in a minute. Where I fish in Missouri and Illinois I almost always have ramp access. So those few times that I fish ponds without, I can either cart or carry (with a friend) and not have the contraption hanging on my PA.

I can see the attraction for some who cart a lot. My next question would be, are there wheel options for different terrain?

Thanks Stlkayak for sharing your opinion. Yes they have wheels for sand.
Here at NC, we also have a lot of boat ramps and some without. I totally abandoned the idea of using the scupper holes after hearing issues about it years ago. Heres the advantage for me when using boat ramp.
- when using boat ramp I don't have to tie my boat to the ramp, I canlower the wheels and drag it out of the water and not have to worry about the kayak banging against the ramp by the waves on windy days while I'm fetching my truck.

I already placed the order from outdoor provision yesterday. I will install
It Thursday and test this/weekend.

Nap,

The scupper holes were reinforced starting with the 2012 PA14. I'm on my 3rd PA and have never experienced any issues related to using the HD cart in the rear scupper holes to transport the PAs with. There are quite a few times I take just one PA, so that's when I use the HD cart. I did notice as soon as I tried the cart that the black bases slide down as the set screw would just not hold well. So a quick PVC spacer cured any chance of rubbing. Good luck with the BooneDox Landing Gear. I don't have it but understand a lot of folks really like it.

I have to keep telling myself that the more I bolt on/H-Rail attach or add to the PA...the heavier it gets loading and unloading when not using the trailer... :D

You're probably right because I have not heard anyone having issues with HD Hobie cart recently.
But again the major reasons why I decided to try this Boonedox are the following:
1. The boat ramp advantage I described in my previous message.
2. I think I will be able to reduce scratches as I don't have to drag the kayak on non sandy beach launch area. I can keep it installed, paddle and take it off on the water. And same when back to shore, I can install it before hitting the shoreline with sharp objects like rocks, shells, oyster bed, and maybe I can try approaching the shoreline on reverse.
3. I don't have to deal with the hassle of removing these other carts sitting under a heavy PA.
4.I can attach two rod holders, and attach Pro Techt umbrella mount on the Boonedox red middle pipe, but these additional accessories will be last in my list. I can also use this Boonedox crossbar tracks for installing PVC around my cooler. Yes I'd like to install a PVC small diameter pipe around the cooler instead of strapping it down. I like to quickly just drop the cooler inside its cage instead of spending time strapping it. I like that heavy cooler to be out of my kayak when I accidentally capsize.

It's expensive but I already spend a lot with fishing and kayaking accessories that are just sitting in my garage. I need to start selling those.

That line actually made me laugh out loud! As I am waiting for two additional orders to be delivered from ACK! gear tracks, another set of Roto-grip paddle holders, etc. I am mounting 12" YakAttack gear tracks to each side of my cooler, with gear track tie downs to help better attach the cooler to the kayak, but at the same time make release simply pulling one tab free. Not sure if my idea for the cooler will work or not. Will need to practice the turtle-maneuver-kayak-recovery procedure when I get some free time in a bit warmer water.

As far as the Boonedox goes. Don't listen to me - obviously you didn't - I don't think they are a bad choice for you...just the opposite...just not a great choice for me considering where I fish 90% of the time. Plus I have a 35lb Pelican and a 70lb Ascend H12 to use if I need to hike a kayak into the deep woods or a rampless pond, where weight is an issue.

Thanks guys for sharing your opinion. I really appreciate it.
I'll go ahead with installing this product this weekend since no one mentioned anything about this product getting defective after some heavy use or they have to remove it because it's not working as expected.

Again, Thanks.

Completed my install of this landing gear and pictures shows how I utilized the Boonedox crossbar for yeti fence and rod holder. I'll smoothen out the PVC holes and paint the PVC with ice blue to blend in with yeti color.

I decided to not paint the cooler cage but instead cover it with free stickers from outdoor provision. I added the picture in previous post link.

The Landing gear by Boonedox is an awesome accessory!! I've had it on my 2015 and will continue to put it on my others in the future. It is a quality made NC product. I too also have a trailer to back down in the water and float off. However, there are times with no ramp so I can just drop the wheels and roll off trailer bunks.

Has anyone installed the Boonedox Landing Gear on a PA12? Everything I've seen talks about PA14's. I have a new 2017 PA12 and ordered the Landing Gear. Just curious if the best mounting point is the same position being used on the PA14 which would be under the H Rail.

Thanks,
Dave

it seems to like a better idea than to have to unload everything to use the scupper wheels

I installed on a PA12 and put mine just over the front edge of the rear storage so as to not block the scupper holes and allow maximum deck space. You'll need the supplied washers to raise the rear of the H-bar. Plus, disconnect the front of the H-bars when you do this. Makes installation much easier.

Thanks kayak99. That's where I was thinking. Mine will be here on Monday. Thanks for the install tips also. I'll be loading/unloading from a truck bed so too far forward might not give me the right angle.
