Spin Halyard cam cleat placement

I am setting up seperate spin halyard and tac line.
Does anyone know the placement for the cam cleat on the mast.
Height up the mast, etc.

You can place it anywhere you like it and I have seen them on the cross bar, low on the mast and high on the mast. We have ours about 3 feet off the deck on the starboard side of the mast. We use a Ronstan swivel the cleats by pulling it slightly up. Then we run it through a bullet block on the crossbar so Eileen can grab it from the other side of the boat to uncleat for the take down. We have never, knock on wood, had it accidentally uncleat while the spin is flying.

Thanks for the reply. I had the Spin halyard on the cross bar but this year I have shifted to a seperate Tac line and halyard. The combo halyard tac line was on the cross bar and it is seperated now.

Thanks for the input on the halyard location on the mast I will try that.

My daughter and I sail in Seattle with Division 4 and Fleet 95. We keep our boat set up at Sail Sand Point when not traveling to a regatta.

I know a couple of Leos, which are you talking about? Our Tiger group is slowly growing, and we sure could use anouther interested sailor.

On anouther note, my daughter and her teamate have rergistered for the Youth Multihull Event down there at ABYC, Longbeach and we are traveling down with her. Do you have any recomendations where we can make Hotel resservations.

Sounds like a nice group of Formulas in Washington is growing as we watch this forum. That is great! We would love to invite you guys down to sail with us in some of our regattas. A nice one might be Santa Barbara in August. We usually get a nice number of boats there.

Also be sure to check with the Canadain group. I think they have about 5 boats up there.
