Back in May we put a $1800 deposit on two Eclipses with a Hobie dealer since we were unable to find any in stock in our area.

Then a few weeks back we found another dealer who actually had two in stock.

So, now we are trying to get our deposit back, but dealer #1 is saying that he'll have to charge us a $90 processing fee.
Matt, (or anyone else at Hobie), is this a common business practice in this type of situation? Just wondering.

We were realistically hoping to have them by mid-July (for our family reunion/vacation); however, I think the shipment "waves" have not come nearly as quickly as they were planned or announced.

Thanks... Still hoping to see many Eclipses out on the water in the weeks/months to come.

These are independent dealers. They may have costs to cancel their order, but not something we are involved in as far as their transaction fees. If a credit card was used, there may be card fees charged to them that they want to recover.

It was just a personal check... As teachers, our summer break means water time! :)
Any updates on any upcoming shipment waves? All the dealers whom I've asked are saying maybe August... :(
The sands of summer vacation are slipping away... Seas the day! ;)

Should accelerate now. I don't have specifics, but I think we are about to see a bunch come in.
