Hey all,

The two black triangular plastic rings on my seat broke and now I have no lumbar support. I ran a search on here and only found one thread that did not address my question.

Fishing is insane right now and I don't want to miss any time. Does anyone know whether this is a DIY repair at home or whether the seat needs to be sent in to Hobie or taken to the dealer?

Thanks,

Carlos

We have the Triangle Ring for the BOA system on PA12 & 14 Vantage ST seat, part number 84507611. No need to take the seat in to a dealer. Replacing the ring is a simple an removing the broken tri ring and threading a new one onto the nylon webbing strap.

Here's a photo of the part:

Thank you for your help, Howie! I definitely need two of those, as they're both cut through. What about the nylon webbing? Is that something you sell as a part too? After it popped, I looked back and wasn't able to find it.

Do yourself a favor. Do not replace them with the same part. I did that and they failed again. Go to lowes or Home Depot and just get two small metal rings like you would see on your anchor trolley and put the strap through on one side and the Boa cord on the other. No chance of breakage now and it took less than 5 min and 5$ to fix.

The webbing strap is sewn onto the seat back fabric. Replacement seat fabric (part no. 84507801) can be purchased through your dealer.

Here's a photo of the seat fabric with attached webbing strap (circled in red) that I'm pretty sure you're referring to??:

Here's what comes when you order the seat fabric replacement (part no 84507801):

Did it tear off the seat cover?? Sure it isn't still there tucked into seat somehow.

If so I would try the DIY solution and attach a cord/strap via a brass grommet before replacing entire seat fabric
