What is the best way to attach a cam cleat to the mast? I am trying to attach a cam cleat to my mast for my jib halyard. As far as I know rivets is not an option becaise its too long. There is self tapping screws but I don't know if the screws would have enough of the mast to hold onto to make it solid. Not sure what other options there are. Really appreciate some help. Thank you.

I'd have to check but pretty sure they are attached using the correct size rivet... 3/16''x 19mm??? I know i used these in monel to attach the nylon cleats. What does the Hobie parts catalogue say?
