The seat back on the advantage CT is uneven. When I adjust the seat back and lock it back, the left side will be tight and the right side will have slack in it causing the right side to go back further than the left. The same thing happens when I re-release it, bring it all the way forward then back and relock the adjustment lever.

Any suggestions? I have searched the forum, manuals, video and FAQs and see no mention of this condition.

Thanks,
David

I think you've got your side lines routed wrong on the short side - they go under and back - not forward and over the at the seat bottom.

Take note at 2:20 mark on this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp-AG_dMEUU&ab_channel=HobieCatCompany

Well there you go. I had been doing that wrong. Had it the same both sides so wasn't really having any detrimental effect., other than reducing range of recline.

Raising seat front also correspondingly increases available recline possible. Recline is handy to streamline in strong headwinds and shift weight back in following seas.

Our Original style CT seats the lines dead ended at the front of the seat - but when we made the change to the sides to wrap under it was related to the free range of motion (and ease of assembly) for the Vantage CTi version for inflatables - we added a cup holder bracket to the sides of those styles and having the lines in front interfered. The old manuals show the front mount so it's a bit confusing - we really need to update all the manuals to show the new routing. (I sent that link to the Quest quickstart because that's the newest video, where we used the newer style seat and it's also pointing out the change and proper routing of the lines - the old quick starts still have the front routing)
Trying to get these things all changed and new videos uploaded is something that doesn't happen overnight...
Sorry you were having the trouble. You'll find that the front adjuster will work way smoother now too wit the lines routed correctly - the other way it pinches down and makes it sticky to move up n down.

Best of luck!

Thanks so much. I stared right at that thing in every angle possible and never noticed the different routing.
