...to fight off snakes? Here in Florida I understand it's legal to "open carry" while hunting or fishing so I thought about using my .38 revolver with 3 snake shot shells and 2 .38+P shells for gator or shark protection. I encountered a pretty aggressive snake in our canal yesterday and felt lucky to get away. I'm not really sure that discharging a pistol in a neighborhood canal would be approved of by the locals (even snake/rat shot) :o My next consideration was a machete. What do you guys in water moccasin ,etc. territory do? Thnx for any ideas.

Yeah, I think you may be right, daft. A snake may not be hard enough to trigger a bang stick but the idea might lead to something else.... thnx

Hmmmm.... battery operated filet knife on a pole?? :wink:
