Can you explain that a little more? It's a raffled boat, but it's being sailed in the competition?

Will they ship it?

Details are coming in as we speak. The boat will be sailed in the competition by a very experienced crew. The winner will be responsible for shipping, though we will help organize. The winner will be responsible for registration and any taxes. More information will be posted as it all comes together...

And there's probably some rule some place about employees of Hobie Cat and its representatives not being eligible to win. :(

So you get a brand new Hobie 16, and you get Noreaga the #1 Hobie 16 sailor as your crew? What if we will be well over mums? (Minimum weight).

I smell a rat here (You sure you didn't get your hands on one of those imported Chinese 16s?).

Besides if your going to raffel off a Hobie 16, and your not going to be able to choose a crew. I say, raffel it to a youth sailor.. or pettition Hobie youth sailors to write an essay listing their experiance, why they think they should win the Hobie 16 etc, then as a bonus have Noreaga crew for them and give them pointers..

GO YOUTH SAILORS!

Hey Dog, We don't have those details yet, but as far as I'm concerned it's not a Hobie sponsored boat. The div is buying it. So if you buy a ticket it's all good with me. Might look a little fisy, but Hobie sailors are cool. Tickets are being printed as we speak, and will go on sale probably next week.
Oh did I mention it's one of the cinese boats :D (Just kidding!!!)

And bphendri, I think Armando is cool with Rodrigo as crew, seems like they do OK

That charter crew is not set in stone yet by the way. If it turns out not to be them it will be someone you all know. The boat will be sailed well and taken care of!!!

I am in, can I paypal the $ to you or do you want a check?
I'll come out and get the boat when I win, hit Napa, Tahoe, Big Sky, Deadwood. Make a huge trip out of it.

We're working feverishly on the details. Should be early next week! I appreciate your interest. Not only will it help the regatta, you have a good chance of actually going home with a new boat!

Do you have an idea of how many tickets are going to be sold? How long the might remain on sale? Is this open to everyone or just those participating in the regatta? Thanks in advance, great idea by the way.

Only 500 Tickets will be sold, That's pretty good odds!! It's open to everyone. Remember, the winner will need to figure out how to get it from the West Coast to wherever they live. We can get it to a shipper for you in the bay area. And, CA sales tax will be due ($700+or-). Ther're going fast! The internet is awesome!!

Thanks to everyone that has purchased tickets so far!!! We have a charity that we are working with that will benefit from our raffle. The Legal Assistance for Seniors of Alameda County is the charity that the Division will be supporting. After the website sells a couple hundred tickets we will be closing it down so that we have some tickets left for the actual event. So if you want to use Paypal you better get on it soon!

Thanks again for your support!
