My 2014 Hobie PA14 has a pull cord that says skateboard on it, can anyone tell me what that's for?

Skateboard? Maybe Skeg? That is the tracking skeg. Lower for better straight tracking. Raise for better maneuvering.

This one is farther forward than the skew cord.

A 2014 hull wouldn't have the tracking skeg on it anyway. Did you buy the boat used?
