Maintain color

My Revo is red and I know it's the worst color to maintain but easy to spot.
Any suggestions on keeping the color bright?

I have rotomolded kayaks, Hobie WAVE and a WindRider 16 trimaran. This was a big concern for me, too.

For a few years now, after paddling/sailing, I will wash it (if needed) with Simple Green, and then spray with 303 PRODUCTS 303 Aerospace Protectant. It is "suntan lotion for your boat". (I'm told it's the best protection I can give it - other than to keep it out of the sun when not using it.) 303 can be ordered from West Marine, but it's available other places, too.

BTW: Not all boat covers are created equal. Check to see if the manufacturer states if the boat cover guards against UV - and to what extent. Just like suntan lotions - they don't all provide the same degree of protection.

Thanks, I'd never heard of 303. If you can believe their website it looks like some bad stuff. They also have a full line of other products. My sporfishing boat has some vinyl that needs cleaning and I'm gonna try some of their other stuff.

I did a few minutes of on-line research of this, and came across this interesting thread. Look near the bottom, where they show a life jacket that was left out in the sun with half of it sprayed with this stuff and half without. I was hoping for a Consumer Reports test, but this is at least something.

Do not put the 303 on the bottom of yak. I made that mistake with a Prowler 13. I launch out of a pickup. With the 303 the yak would not stay as positioned on the tail gate when loading. It would slide all over the place and make it very difficult to load at the boat ramp. I finally wound up cliping the yak to some Para cord to hold it in place as I grabbed the rear of the yak to slide it in. The 303 would not come off even after wiping with Gas.

Thanks for the tip. Try rubbing compound to remove the 303.

P13 is now gone. I found a better yak (revolution).
Thanks for the tip. I will remember the rubbing compound if needed in the future. Btw the tail gate now has rubber pond liner glued to it. That was my final solution
