I picked up a 2019 outback yesterday and I’m wondering where the SERIAL number is? I’ve felt up the entire Hull like my old high school girlfriend and still can’t find it ? Also the screws to attach the seat bottom to the seat top are 1/2 mile too short , so what size screw do I need to get at the hardware store so that I can sit down while using my kayak on the water ?
Thanks

Hi Kep! Hobie usually puts the SN at the stern, underside or side. Don't know if the new Outback is any different. Your dealer should be able to help with any seat issues under warranty. Great to see you back! 8)

Hi Roadrunner.
I checked all those locations again and again without seeing anything on the hull, it’s just not there, I’ve spent two days looking for it. I’m just going register without it, I’ve never had any issues with any of my previous mirage kayaks that required anything major on warranty. For the record I never left I’ve just had a kayak jammed up my ass for endless days on the water. Eat,sleep, kayak, all day, then rinse, lather, and repeat. I guess I should get a life someday ! LoL

Some of the "wide" seats were packed with the original screw length. Sorry about that!

SCREW 1/4-20x2.25 PHMS BLK PH

Serial numbers should be on the transom area port side under side.

Hi Mr Miller.
Thank you for the info, I drove back to the dealer and he gave me a seat that was already built. On another note, I purchased an H-Bar for my 2019 outback from the dealer and I’m not sure if it will fit, the part number on the box is 84500119, so is that going to fit on my outback or do I need to use an H-Bar with part number 84500120 ? I haven’t even opened box yet because I don’t want to try putting a round peg into a square hole etc . I found the the serial number it was up high on the transom, so the camo color on my outback really does work because that serial number was hiding in the bushes big time. I was looking for the rectangle ridge on the hull with the serial numbers inside.
Thanks in advance.

The 84500120 is specific to the 2019 Outback, so is what you really want.

The 2019 kit has some hardware specific to 2019 (H rails).

Here is the instruction for the older / universal kit SKU https://static.hobiecat.com/item_attachments/Adjustable_Hbar_Manual_Outback_final.pdf

Thank you Matt
I’m going to return it and or exchange it for the H-Rail that’s specific to the 2019 outback.
Thank you for saving me the hassle.
Kep
