Bought a new Compass from a dealer about a month ago. Had the dealer install a number of mods including the rectangular hatch install and circular hatch move, fish finder install, side handles etc. I made a couple of mods too.. Returned from a fishing trip and was lifting out the rectangular hatch bucket when I see this big glop of multilayer semi-circular plastic under the bucket. Looks like a dog with Diarrhea took a dump. Appears to me that the plastic didn't get evenly distributed during the manufacturing process. As this is my 3rd Hobie Kayak I don't believe this is normal.

At the very least I was sold a blemished kayak. How to resolve this matter considering a bunch of money was put into mods ?

Yes I will be submitting a claim to Hobie warranty, but input from anyone with a similar experience is appreciated

All roto-molded kayaks have a buildup of plastic from the vent tube in the center areas (hatch) of the kayak hull bottom from the molding / oven process - when it's not too large it's left alone - sometimes the assembly workers will sand them off - so then you'd seeing sanding marks on the inside of the hull - but what you're describing is normal - and is actually on most every kayak we sell...

My first quest had a dollop like that. Doesn't make any difference its just a localized internal thickened blob. One of my other hobies has a similar but smaller one.
