I have always heard that you should measure the diagonals to make sure the boat is square especially when tightening the tramp or gluing the boat.

As for your forestay length, check to see that you have all the hardware in place, twist toggles on the anchor pins and the 6 inch or so link at the top of the forestay. Either of these can cause your issue.

Bill, all was good after the crossbar was flattened, The front shroud easily reached. I still needed the extension pinned to the stay since I'm using the original shorter bridle wires, but I'm happy that it all worked out. Now I'm frustrated that there isn't going to be any good wind in the near future, so I guess I wait :roll:
