Hey everyone. When I bought my boat I had two sets of trap wires. Well turns out one set was for a Hobie 14. My good set isn’t that great either. It really likes to tangle and the wires have lots of kinks. It’s just a real hassle to get them laid out and rigged. I wanted to see if I could make some out of dyneema that we’re remnants I bought for $20 on eBay. I could make four more of these with what I have left over. I cannabalized the 14 set and grabbed the eye hole to protect the lower splice from chafing. What do you think? The ends are Bimmel splices and just to make it even more basic the hand hold is an butterfly knot. I got good at those splices all you need is a bic pen a coat hanger and some Teflon tape. There are two ways to make bimmel splices one requires two bitter ends and the second can be done with one end and when you learn it you feel like a magician.

It's 5/16" tensile strength in the 12-14k pound range. If I were doing running rigging I'd get the dyneema core with poly sheath.
