I recently purchased a 83' hobie 16. I have a lot of recreational hobie 16 experience and keelboat racing experience. The boat is in great shape and after replacing some critical parts it has been tested several times in high winds on lake tahoe and everything has been great. But, here is my most recent problem that I would greatly appreciate some advice on:

When the tiller is in the central position both rudder blades are angled outwards. I have adjusted the tiller bar but it does not adjust enough to compensate. I think the aluminum bars that attach to the blades are both bent, but they look identical also. Are those bars suppost to be in alignment with the blades or slightly bent outwards? Any suggestions on how to deal with this problem while not spending a ton of money? Thank you all for your help.

And as a side note...I am moving early july and will be looking to sell this boat and trailer (both in great condition). If anyone is interested please feel free to contact me at [email protected].

About halfway down the first page may answer your question. There is a port and starboard rudder casting, you may have yours swapped.
