I am looking at buying a second hand PA 12 and was wondering what the differences between the 2013 and 2014 models are? I believe there is the upgraded rudder and BOA on the 2014 model but could be wrong?

Are they effectively the same boat or should I preference a 2014 model?

Thanks guys

The only difference I know in the PA14 between the 2013 and 2014 models was the BOA rudder tension mechanism was added to the 2014 model. Pretty sure the PA12 followed the same upgrade schedule.

You can also upgrade the 2013 PA by buying a BOA kit and installing it yourself......I made this upgrade on my 2013 PA-14.

Its well worth adding the BOA that takes the "slop or tightness" out of the rudder lines as the hull changes slightly (expands or contracts) as the ambient temperature changes.

My friend and I just purchased PA12s this year. Mine is a 2013, his is a 2014. The only differences that I have noted is the BOA tension adjustment and the rudder mount/steering drum was upgraded.
