MD 180 not switching to reverse

Hi,

I've had my MD 180 for a few months, since summer, and after around 10 trips, it does not switch to reverse anymore. From this pick you can see that one fin points forwards and one backwards. I can only turn one fin anymore. Looks like some cable/cord is broken. Pretty fast that broke as I'm not a heavy user and try to be careful with all my gear. I could not find any good diagrams or videos on how to dismantle the drive and replace the cable - can it be replaced with some generic cord, hopefully, as we don't have Hobie distributor in Finland anymore, the drive was bought from Sweden from kayakstore.se.

I tried to open the whole spine and couldn't figure out how to open up the turning fin holders.

Do I need a full spine replacement because of that one cable being cut?

This is like a circuit board... you replace the whole thing due to assembly complications. This is unusual and I would suggest you file a warranty claim for, at minimum, a significant reduced cost... if not free.

Thanks. The warranty claim has been submitted by Kayakstore.se from Sweden. Hoping for a positive resolution, I love my PA14, difficult now to live without it.
