His & Hers Lynx Kayaks

My wife and I love being on the water and kayaks are a great way to do that. Unfortunately our shoulders aren't what they used to be. We've been interested in pedal kayaks for a long time, to take the load off the shoulders, but their weight has been the show stopper. Just can't load 80+ pound kayaks anymore. Then the Lynx came out.

We were excited to get a pair but figured our chances were low. Luckily we called our dealer on the morning he received a deliver of 5 (he had ordered 10) and snapped up 2. He was sold out by end of day.

These things are crazy light, plus easy to setup and pedal. I'm an avid fisherman and will be playing around with configs to see what works. First trip, with a rod holder in each track, was less than ideal. Near impossible to get the paddle our of its holder due to interference from the cup holder, seat, rod holder and pedal drive. Getting rod holders for my kayak crate to solve that problem. Considering H-Rails but not sure they're necessary and hoping to keep things simple. Definitely looking forward to being able to stand and fish.

I've heard complaints online about the price for such a simple kayak but the Lynx removes the weight barrier opening up opportunities for people like my wife and me. Thanks Hobie!

Now that I've figured out the seat angle thing, I love mine. I still go back and forth on whether I should have done the Lynx or the Revo 11, but every time I pick the Lynx up to put it on my car, I feel good about my decision.

No regrets here. I expected to be slightly disappointed in the performance of the Lynx hull but after a few lake and river trips I’m loving this thing. My main concern is that the ACE-TEC shell holds up. There’s just no getting around having to drag across the occasional boulder or rock here in northern NJ when you launch and retrieve but so far I’m impressed with how tough it is.
