I had my 16 out with a freind who also has a 1986 H16 and one with a H18 a couple of weeks ago. The Perfect wind for single handed trapping. So anyway, I get to sailing along at a pretty good clip when a large motor boat passed about a a little ways in front (not too close to be a problem). As the boat wake aproached I thought well Ill take it head on and skip over.

I did in fact skip over the first wave "aaa nice" and then realized how large the 2nd wake wave was. Before I could sheet out, there goes the leeward down deep into the wake quicky followed by the windward one. Next thing I see are the rudders in the air and I'm sitting in the jib.

Luckily no damage to me or the boat... I think Ill take it a little more carefully next time.

Gotta love Hobie's! I drive my new boat which is made by a company I can't mention through wake just to cool off. But those pitchpoles make for a fun ride!

Gree,
Why don't you mention it. You've mentioned it in your last 300 posts without feeling bad about it. :D

Oh I am just kidding around, I love my Hobie 14 and my Nacra 5.2 and I will love my new self designed home build F16 even more!

I am building an F16 class cat. Plans are all done and the mold is coming together quickly.
