Hi, new member and owner of old Hobie Mirage Tandem. My first post ... I searched thru forums and see that part # 81013001 is a newer version of what I am looking for (Rudder control and tilt) Is it possible that my "new" kayak (about 2005) parts are obsolete? I could not locate a serial number on rear/hull. Thank you! Ken

Welcome to the forum. The serial # is hard to see on the older hulls. Try feeling for a "rough spot" on the underside or side at the stern. If you find it, some chalk will highlight the numbers. Some characteristics of original tandems are aluminum Mirage Drive spine, no sail slot, riveted seats. In any event, Steering cranks are usually specific to the boat model. Is yours broken? 8)

Thanks Roadrunner, the steering levers tips are broken but still usable. If I knew how to attach a picture, I would!
