Team,

Love my Lynx - use it to fish. Was on the fence about getting the add on pads, but they always seem so hard to find. Then I damaged my factory pad! I wrote customer service (today) and got an email back saying they would contact me. While looking for solutions online I noticed a few venders that do custom pads for kayaks. I called a guy working for one of those companies who led me to believe they could design anything (of course the price shoots up).

I do look forward to seeing if Hobie gets back with me concerning the factory pad. I wish I knew who they outsourced pad manufacturing to.

I am considering getting one of these customized Marine Mats: https://lacustomkayaks.com/products/hobie-lynx-marine-mat?variant=40794970587295

You can get 3mm or 6mm (I believe the original Hobie pad is 4mm) in many different colors and patterns.
Not cheap but at least they are available, unlike the Hobie EVA deck pad kit.
"Exterior" is if you just want pad for the uncovered areas. "Complete" is if you want to remove the factory pad under the seat as well.

There are YouTube videos showing installation (including removal of original pad).

Be nice if there was a toned down version that didn't cover up the whole deck. Thinking just the the front and rear tie down areas would be a good minimalist version.

Due to the limited availability of the deck pad kits I trimmed off the edges of a foam puzzle mat to use under my crate. I did NOT glue it on and it works great. Maybe next year when/if they come back in stock I'll order the kit. In the meantime this is working great.
