H17/ H18 North American Championships 2026

Happy New Year all!
Registration opens January 1st 2026 for the H17/ H18 North American Championships to be held at Lake Quinault, Washington August 3-7. Come and join us at this stunning lake only 30 minutes from the ocean. Thermal breezes give us winds in the 15-18knt range most days, and we can sail into the evening as well. Question - are you required to participate in any other races to qualify for the NA championships?

There is no requirement for any prequalification events. If you have a boat, H17 or H18, come and join us! Even if you're a beginner racer, we'll help you out!
The only requirement is that both Skipper and Crew (h18) must be members of the Hobie Class Association.

Thanks I've been sailing Hobies for over 40 years, but don't race much, though when I do tend to win or place highly. The field is usually quite small so not too sure about the bragging rights. I have a 2000 H17Sport with a passable set of OME sails that I'mguessing is required. My usual stomping grounds is Wallula Gap WA (See places to sail 'The Gap' for a review of my sailing abilities). Schedule permitting I'll be there.
