Well I have a lead on a 1976ish 14' for under 300.00 with a trailer.Might go for less his wife would just like it to go hehehe. after talking the owner sounds good but it was painted what should i look for...I would like to make it a turbo after some time..

I was sailing a friends 16 on the Chesapeake bay all weekend by the c\d. it was my first time now im hooked had it up on oneside for a sec or too now i would like a trapeze to push it . sorry to go on just hopped up after this weekend

Well, watch for soft spots anywhere on the boat, most importantly in front of the forward pylons.

Check the sails, new ones are not cheap, a new main would be something like 600.

Also the tramp could be expensive if it is not in good shape.

Other than those things just see if it looks like it has been taken care of, these boats are pretty robust and can take a beating but a well taken care of boat will be much better than a mistreated boat.

The 14 is a fun little boat, there are some thing about it that are not perfect. They are a blast to single hand in heavy winds, but can be a dog in light stuff. I would get it turboed quick. That jb really helps alot!

Also just read around this sight and you can learn tons about these boats.

I have the remnants of a turbo rig if you're interested: jib blocks, roller furling jib, etc.

let me know how mush you are looking for the turbo kit
and now i just found out the main is not in good shape
