I just got back from the H16/20 Nationals in Alameda and thought I'd post a few stories about why Hobie Sailors are the best people around.
1) All of the Sailors were sharing parts. When I didn't have something in stock a sailor would always come up and say, "I might have an extra in my tool box...".
2) A sailor flipped at A mark and lost a rudder pin. Aaron and Brad (AUS Winners) asked the committee to postpone the next race until the sailor went to the beach and made the repair. That's sportsmanship!
3) A sailor had a broken forward crossbar. The new one came in and about 10 guys started grabbing tools and swapped it out in order to get the guy on the water.
There were countless other instances where people were helping each other rig boats, share secrets, and talk strategy... Not to mention all of the volunteers that made the event happen. What a great group to be part of!
To top it all off, Aaron Worall gave me his first place trophy to give to a youth racer in our local Division. That's freakin cool!
Thanks to everyone for making this such an awesome event!

A Few boats went over. Lots of muddy mast heads.
