I purchased the Hobie Revolution last week but returned it to the dealer several days ago because I noticed a significant "ding" on the bow of the boat. I don't mind scratches but this "ding" almost appeared to be a puncture point....I must have overlooked the "ding" at the dealer location but the dealer was kind enough to swap out the boat for another.

At the dealer location I checked over the hull of the second revo carefully but when I got it home and was going over it again I noticed a 1.5" gash on the gunnel next to the seat area. Look's like part of the textured surface was removed but it's not a large area. Should I be concerned or are these "dings" and scratches normal? Again, I don't mind scratches and can live with the gash as long as it doesn't compromise the structural integrity of the boat. Any one have any thoughts on this?

Apart from the "gash" I'm impressed with the overall look and design of the boat and I'm looking forward to taking it out for a "pedal!" I also plan on installing the following accessories on the boat:

anchor trolley system
humingbird 717 fishfinder w/12v battery
ram rocket launchers (2)
ram fly rod holder (1)
pvc rod extensions for the flush rod holders
stern light
Marine Magellan GPS

I'll post pics once I have the rigging completed..

Brad,
I noticed that you're a hobie dealer - do you carry the hobie rod extensions for the flush mount rod holders? If so, how much?

we do try and carry the entire catalog, as should your local dealer. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions

I bought a blue revo in June. I have a gash on mine that looks exactly the same and in the same spot on the left (port) side. It is obviously not a problem, just a mark that I can use to identify my revo as mine. A personal scar. :?

Yea, thats nothing. With some use, you will put much better scratches on it than that.

Revos rock, enjoy it! And good luck with the mods, looking forward to seeing it all rigged up.
