In Karl's defense it is a stand up jet ski ( which I don't consider half as annoying as those sit n' spins) and it's a Yamaha FX1. Get it? He'll have a a pair of FX-1's. I think thats cool.

Gree- Need something to do other than harden my liver when there's no wind.

You could always take up another hobby, I golf when I am not able to sail.

Also no wind means work on the boat, there are always a few nicks on the rudders or daggers than could be fixed.

That's what winter is for. But I still don't do those things. While very patient for things along those lines I don't have patience for fibreglass, or gelcoat work. Somethings are best left in the hands of professionals. I had no problem paying somone $500 to fix a big ugly hole in my 85' H16 and redo the bottoms. I've got an appointment to get some things fixed on the FX. Including a ugly repair on a daggerboard. I think I'm going to have them grind em' down and recoat them in red to match the graphics. I know, I'm a tool

So not only do you have a jet ski but you are worried about your colors matching on your boat.... you know what they say about people like that.

Hey now! You can be a sailor and still like to jetski!
I've been a jetskier since 1989 and only started sailing maybe 4 years ago. (Standups Rule) I like sailing for the same reason I like riding standups: it's hard to do.

I modified my former Hobie 16 trailer so that it could hold my Superjet under the Hobie on the opposite side of the catbox. As long as I didn't slide it too far forward so it hit the dolphin striker it fit in there great. I'm going to do the same for my Hobie 18 trailer or modify one of those hitch racks so I can have the SJ on the rack but still tow the Hobie trailer. When the waves really get rollin' the SJ is comin' out!

I am not sure what to say to that, they are fun at times and there is talent required for the standups but still, they can be awfully annoying!

Hey if you wanna ban the couches, I'll stand with ya. I miss the old days when it was just us standups as the only PWC on the water. I find the bass fisherman who cut off everyone as they race to that special spot annoying, same with the boaters who can't seem to keep their garbage out of the lake (no where to store stuff on a standup), same with those open motored jetboats that make more noise than a funny car yet only manage 65 mph. Can't ban everything that is annoying though...
