I saw in the new catalog live bait tanks. 8)
Will these fit in a 06 model Outback or just for the 07? The rear storage area behind the seat is different from 06 vs 07. I want one bad.

Should fit the '06.

We have finally gotten close to approval of the final production sample. We had a number of issues and want to make these correctly. Sorry for the delay. I hope to have them ready by late September.

Would like a more positive answer on the Q before I drop close to 300 bills on it..... Should, would, maybe not for me.,,,,.....can you show a pic of the bottom of it?,,,,,have 2 more 06 Outback owners here with the same Q. Understand the delay, just hope they'll fit 06 models also.

I emailed Matt and this was his answer to the '06 outback

"The recessed cooler box area is a problem. The floor of the cargo area should be relatively flat for the LiveWell. If yours has the rectangular recessed area... Not going to work. We are looking at making some modifications to the tank in the future to help it work for any boat, but that is "in the future". It mostly has to do with the water intake and exit tubes."

Make your own spacer and extend the tubes? If it don't fit use a bigger hammer.

Extending the Intake/outtake should be a very simple do it yourself fix. , now getting the tank to sit properly may be a bit more complicated, nothing a few 2x4's and a 12pack can't figure out.

Once we get the tanks in stock I would be more than happy to play around with it and see if I can come up with something, that is once we get the tanks in, fill back orders and have any left over.

Not a bad idea, Id like to see what it acually looks like (bottom) to configue it to the 06 models.
