Solo sailing,
FX One?

Still a Hobie, and if more sell and attend regattas we will have fleet racing in the future.

The FXone handles two people easily. I've thought about adding a jib, but I think I'd only use it a couple of times a season. Plus I don't want the extra hardware when not using it.

Doug- Try out an FXone. The boat really does sail well. Not quite as fast, but definately faster than a H17, even with out the chute.

Just got my PHRF from BAMA (no jib, yes spi):

45 sec/mile

Portsmouth reads:

Hobie FXOne jib no spi HFX1T [70.1]
Hobie FXOne spi 1-up HFX1U S 68.6 72.0 70.9 69.2 65.7

Huh, I thought it was lower than that on portsmouth. That isn't much lower than my 5.2 when I am solo on it, and if you factor in my spin I just rigged it would bring me very close.

Just curious what does the FX weight?

Karl, they mean two full sized people.

Mike, and Jeremy are sailing the FX1 and would qualify as full sized. Karl takes along his kids to make minumum weight. :D

Easy now. No kiddo's here. I'm right at minimum now. which is 158lbs.

OS18 is right, it handles two full sized people very well. I took the 2nd set of trap wires (spectra, whatever), off my boat so I haven't had the opportunity to try double trapping, but I have to imagine it would take breaking stuff wind to not be able to hold it down with the wings on my boat.
