Wow, turned over to December on my calender (the one from the kayak company who makes rotomolded boats and also a few fiberglass boats on the side...Hobie) and low and behold the third fiberglass boat of the whole year?

I knew of a fleet that hired a professional photographer and did their own calender once. Has this been discussed here before? You'd think of all the photos taken at regattas all over there could be a nice calendar made.
How about one from the Hobie class photo contest? Image
Or a Dr. Crash of Hobies?

Or classic AND new models. Scantily or non-clad crews and skippers (of the fairer sex of course) would be a nice touch!

This has been discussed in the Past. The Hobie Calender is an effort by all the Hobie Branded products, sailboats, kayaks, sunglasses, t-shirts..... I agree we need to have a Sailboat dedicated calender, a kayaking only calender, we have kayak people complain about the sailboats as well. it is going to be up to us to make one. I started a shop Calender at one time but never had time to finish it. maybe next year, as I've been saying for the past 7 or 8 years....... I just got the 2008 calender, not sure the ratio this year...

I think the title of that picture could be: "Why comptips suck!"

No, that one is "Chris misses his Viagra."

That's the first Comptip I've seen break while sailing.

Do you mean you personally (to which I say bulls**t!) or "me" as in grammatically correct (which it is by the way - "that's Greg and me")?

Sorry - I can never stop being the grammar Nazi as long as I'm the magazine editor.

This is ME in the picture with the broken mast. Not have enough coffee today or what?
My dealer says that I must have turtled the boat and cracked the comptip because he has never seen one break either. The OTHER theory is that the new downhaul system put too much pressure on it and broke it off. Hard to say, but I know my dealer isn't going to give me a new one for free, so I am screwed. I have another mast thankfully, with comptip, but now I need another mast for my old boat.

I believe everyone on this forum would prefer at catamaran only calendar from Hobie. I go so far as to disassemble the 2007 calendar and re-use the CAT photos for months featuring kayaks.

This has prompted me to research making my own calendar for 2009. I’ve found a place that I can have custom wall calendars made. They are 11â€

Sorry, we (Fleet 10) is organizing the 2008 North American Championships for the 16 and 14 classes. We'll probably have the 20 shirts on there as well.

Chris,

That's cool. So, is the plan for the customary (obligitory?) tee shirt to become a thing of the past (NOT included in the entrants fee)?
Pick out what you'd like as a momento and order from the on-line store?

No, the store will be for those who want shirts in addition to, or other products OR just want a shirt/hat/thong in the event they are not coming to the race. Its just an outlet for stuff to get to people elsewhere that we don't actually have to do the work on: ie.....carry inventory, ship, bill etc.......cafepress will do it all with little to no cost to the regatta. I have done business with them a number of times and liked the quality. I recently bought a 'Dirty Jobs' long sleeve tee shirt, so can look like my hero Mike Rowe. I bought my oldest son an Average Joe's uniform tee shirt and the daughter got a Globogym uniform shirt like in Dodgeballl. The best thing thus far was the Derek Zoolander 'DZ' (school for kids that can't read good and want to learn to do other stuff good too) shirt I got for my little guy for Xmas.
I'll let you all know when its up and running.
