How do you do it with out destroying the comptip? I knew it'd be hard, but I'm stumped. I've heard heating epoxies to 200 degress would soften them, but I'm about to call BS on that. Beating the crap out of doesn't work either. :evil:

Any suggestions out there??

With determination...

After drilling out all of the rivets, keeping in mind there is one that's about 5"down from the top two (my biggest error). I removed the pulleys and stuck a piece of wood inside the pulley enclosure. Then I took an iron flat bar and pounded the snot out of it. Little by little it eased its way out.

Looks like on mine they also glassed. or glued that extended tang.
