Sea Scouts Ship 185 Apollo Beach FL needs a self furling jib for a hobie 18; also, the bridle stay broke last weekend. Check your old gear box for these parts and then email me: [email protected] and I will forward your information to the scoutmaster. They will pay a reasonable price or would appreciate donations.

They also have a G-cat which is missing the port side jib tackle. This is the same as the old Seaway single block with ratchet, cleat and becket used for the main sheet on hobie 16's.

Sea Scouts is for boys and girls 14-18 and is part of the Boy Scouts of America.

Maybe if the shipping address was posted here, some kind souls would anonymously ship stuff from the used parts buckets that are getting tripped over all the time. Or maybe give up that Seaway ratcheting single with becket, cam and jib track slide paperweight sitting on his desk for a good cause.

Not that I'm saying who that might be.

The shipping address for the Sea Scouts is :

Sea Scouts Ship 185
c/o Don St Amour
18801 Trace Dr
Lutz, FL 33549

Thanks for the suggestion! We really appreciate any help that is offered.

I have Bridle wires for you. They’ll be in the mail on Monday. I replace my standing rigging this winter but my old bridle wires are still in fair condition. I’m an assistant scout master of a Boy Scout Troop here in South Jersey. I know how much donations help. I’ll be running the small boat sailing merit badge from my 18 beginning next week.
Good luck to you and your SeaScouts.

USPS Click-N-Ship says that address is not good.

I shipped them my used bridle wires on April 21 using USPS Priority Mail to the address provided. I have not heard any response but, have not gotten any returned packages. I assumed they got it. I would be nice to hear if the Sea Scouts got any other response to there plea.
