A hole would only be a problem if it was on top of the hulls, as that is the only place that the balls could escape in volume, and if the hole was on top, the hull probably would not fill up. Lets not let accountants ruin the genius of the plan.

Also...........If you hit something really big you won't have to pay thousands for the salvage tow in, or of course, it's tough to get billed from inside a plastic bag as well. I don't think ping pong balls are really that cheap are they? The per ball littering charge is where they would get really expensive.

Panty Hose !

Have your wife/girlfriend/both :wink: save their old panty hose. Put the toe of the panty hose in the porthole, start stuffing the ping pong balls into the panty hose and keep feeding the "bag o balls" into the hull, until you feel as if you have enough flotation. Tie off the waist of the hosiery when you are done stuffing and voila, you a reasonable facsimile of a foam block that will not "leak" out of the hull in the event of a catastrophic event.
