Forward Mast Stand

I have a galvanized trailer for my Wave. During trailering I've been securing the bottom part of the mast on top of the boat and putting the top part in my cat box. I'm considering putting a mast stand on the tongue of the trailer. What is a good height for the mast stand?

Mine is 5' from the frame to the top of the mast cradle. I would attach a picture if I knew how!

Anything that will allow the mast to clear the tow vehicle.

That is about what I was thinking... it should clear the vehicle fine. Now the trick is to find one. The tongue on my trailer is actually 3" wide.

Well I received the mast stand from trailerpartsdepot.com last Friday. My 11 year old and I installed it on Saturday. I had to get a couple of 3" wide U bolts from West Marine. It works beautifully. Clears the back of my pickup and fits in the garage if I keep the tongue low and push it in. The best part is that it reduced the setup and take down time at the lake. We actually have had a little wind and had a great time sailing on Sunday with my wife, son, and I. My son really enjoyed taking the helm on the Wave and learning how to keep the wind across the sails.
