The top 2 battens on a Wave sail are specifies to be 36" and 50" long, but ours came with battens that were 2" longer (38" & 52"). They were sticking out quite a bit so we decided to cut off a bit from the ends... Is that normal? The 50"er is now a bit too short and the outside end is slightly burried inside the edge with hardly any room left to tighten it if need be... What to do? Should we even worry about it?

Thanks

Unless you're racing, batten tension is not super critical, they should be snug in the pocket. Main thing is not losing them! Some guys cut the H16 jib battens flush with the end of the pocket and have a velcro strap sewn on, avoiding the adjustment cap altogether.
