It's funny you guys suggested a golf cart.. I own a golf course so I have 65 golf carts to choose from. The sand is too soft and the cart would get stuck. My neighbour did a booze cruise down on the beach one night and found out the hard way. I actually took my Toro Sand Pro down there once. We use it to rake sand traps at the course. It has 3 wheeled drive with wide flotation tires... and it didnt do that well either.

You might want to look at using a windlass vs. a winch. The windlass will not coil the rope on the drum like a winch, so the lenght of rope / cable used will not be such a consideration. A new windlass is expensive so I would look for a used one.

A while ago, a guy used an atv to pull his H-16 across the low tide flats at San Felipe. Two sets of cat wheels and an ATV. Wasn't this Udo's set up?

I dropped a 4x6 post into a hole with some cement to hold it there and mounted a manual winch to it. I used cable, not rope, because i got less stretch and more pulling power. Put it in so long ago, don't remember how much, but its probaby 75 ft. The manual winch worked well and the simplicity is great. If you get a 2 speed manual, it will really help you.

Key to keeping it straight was to make a brindle which I could attach to the pylons in order NOT to bend the dolphin striker. So long as the bridle was even the boat came up pretty straight.

Another friend of mine had to come up a steep incline and over a bulkhead/seawall and built a system of rollers with an electric winch to haul a H21 SE to its parking position. That also worked well, but the distance was much shorter...only about 50 ft.

Hope those ideas help. You truly have a great setup.
