What was the first year the hobie 16 adopted integrated traveler tracks? I noticed at my beach that the 03 hobie 16 has them but all of the boats from the 80's do not. Just wondering...

1994. We had a standard depth track for about a year before realizing we needed to re-design the main traveler (thicker axels and brass wheels). That required a change in the track depth in 1995.

The traveler car snapped during a violent gybe (tried to slow the boom down but missed it).......little pieces of Delrin and SS wheels everywhere.

My boat (1977-H16) was a driveway ornament for a while (the previous owner did not have time to sail) so I suppose there are a few more surprises coming.

My question is how do you replace the traveler car...do you drill out the last few rivets and pry the track up to slide the car in.......

Should I consider replacing the entire track to upgrade to the deeper track a nd newer style traveler?

Thanks.

Not unless you've got a couple hundred bucks burning a hole in your pocket.

I think the part number you need is 105, call you dealer, the kit will include the rivets you need to replace the track.
