Hey All....

I know this subject has probably 900 threads going, but I was wondering, are there any VIDEOS around of someone doing the fiberglass repair on the hull bottoms of a H16? I've read the many posts about how to do the hull bottoms, but if you've never done it (like me), the prospect of tackling this myself is frightening. The idea of screwing up my boat makes me ILL! I can see woven fabric on the hull bottoms, but no water leaks so far. Downloaded the hull templates, and I'm gonna see how much the beach has sanded off. A picture (or a video) is worth a thousand words!

Thanks! :D
Alan

Alan, Building up the bottoms (keel) on a Hobie is easier than you might think. The hardest part of doing a rebuild is knowing what materials to use and knowing how to use them, along with some special tools. I have sent step by step photos (sorry, no video) to numerous Hobie owners to help them along the way. I don't ask for any $$, but would hope they would join the Hobie Class Association (HCA) to build up the membership. It's something to think about and for the membership fee of $35 you can get their HOTLINE magazine every other month. There is a ton of info about Hobies, and some repair articles which you may find helpful. Here are some links to take a look at http://www.hcana.hobieclass.com/ https://www.hcanamembers.com/ . If you think you'd like me to send some photos & info I'd ask you to send your private email address to [email protected] .
