Anyone know if it's possible to slide half a standard paddle into the Oasis hull? And, has anyone used the mini kayak cart? Are there any other cart options that will fit through an 8" hatch? ...thanks

Frank

Hi Frank and welcome to the forum. The standard paddle will not fit through any of the three Oasis hatches, but Hobie sells a 4 piece paddle that should fit in at least 2 of the hatches. Or, you could possibly cut a paddle down if you don't like the standard paddle mounts.

Check out Stringy's posts for storing the cart upside down in the nose of the front cockpit or consider a couple of padeyes and bungee it on the foredeck if you can't use the aft cargo well.

If there's a will, .... 8)

Thanks for the paddle info, I'll get a telescoping one then. I will be storing the boat at a marina and the more I can store in the hull, the less to haul there and back, especially when I bike.

I have the older plugin cart and usually just store it in the back of my Outback using the standared bungy "net". But as I looked at it one day I relized that the golf cart wheels have a simple set screw arangement where one simply unscrews and removes the wheels. I also found that with the wheels removed, I can just barely fit the metal frame into the front hatch and dump the wheels in as well. But since I don't use the rear area much, I just store it there most times.

That's good to know. I'll check out the newer cart next time I'm at a dealer.
