Does anybody have any practical experience with the hooter sail system sold by Rick White? He makes some fairly dramatic claims on his website as to how this system improves performance but the setup looks a little "Rube Goldberg" to me...it is also very pricey at close to $2,000.

I looked at the hooter system and got some feedback by email from Rick on it.

I don't think it's Rube Goldberg-ish, but smart and innovative.

The hooter itself with the furling setup is pretty slick and a good idea.

But like most sails these days, the price is high and setup represents about a third of the cost of the boat new. If ya got the bucks...
